Resident Evil Soundtrack

resevil.jpg

RES-

One of the hardest hitting soundtracks of the summer. Includes hits from Slipknot, Marilyn Manson, Adema, Saliva, Fear Factory. If you like the idea of a great mix of head slammin hits and a variety of musical tastes. Then this is the album for you. I cant say enough about the music collection found here on one single album. This is what putting a movie soundtrack together is about. Selling great music not a few whimpy ass songs found in the movie. Go out and grab this one!

Earshot

And along comes another good rock band.. These guys have a sound that sounds like others but then doesnt. I listen and think of some of the harder Nirvana, but then something a little more disturbed, and airier, almost Rush style on steroids. I really enjoyed this album, and found it different enough to make it new, but still right in the rock scene that makes it work. Go give it a listening booth try. I say buy it.

Five Pointe O

I first heard a taste of these guys off of the Resident Evil Soundtracks, generally a good place to find great new bands if you like the rest of the soundtrack. All I could think of was give me more, give me more. I went out and picked this one up, and no surprise or disappointment here. Just as promised these guys are hard hit tin, slammin momma jammers. I can compare the vocals with a kind of Slipknot growl, but more vocal, instead of just a grungy growl. I would almost say a Rage Against The Machine meets Slipknot sound if I was to make a likening sound. Awesome performers here. I say once again, go get this album you hard rockers.

Down

DWN-  http://www.down-nola.com/

A long, long, awaited sequel to the underground smash hit album Nola, here comes Down II. These guys are back with the all the fury and bustle, which made the first album, just stand up and punch you right in the mouth. The first release from this album Beautifully Depressed, conjures up the images of Pantera, and other heavy hitting rock performers of past ages. Although I enjoyed this album, I just didnt feel the draw to it that I experienced with Nola. I would have to say, give this one a listening post try before you buy, unless you really liked the first Down album Nola like I did, in which case go buy it.

Hatebreed

HTB-  http://www.hatebreed.com/

Harder than the average modern day band, these guys sure can rock. I really enjoyed this album. It was a refreshing flashback to the full on double bass head pounding assault rock I grew up with and miss from time to time. These guys put a fresh song list set to the genre of music for me. If you like the harder almost death metal sound of the past then give these guys a listen. The track Hollow Ground was really good, as well as the track I will be heard, which was the first release from this album. If you miss the headbangin stuff from yesteryear, or even stuff like Biohazard, then go give these guys a try, youre sure to be impressed and possibly end up with a sore neck once again from the urge to bang your head.

Switched

Hearing the first hit single from this band Inside, I was instantly drawn into the switched vortex. I had to go buy this album and have more to feed the hunger. I wasnt left down at all. I cracked this baby open and dropped her in, and turned the SWITCH on. Damn was I impressed. The energy level album on this album is so high and pumping that the ending left me tired but still wanting more. I loved this album. The whole album has the same feel of music to it, but every song is still somehow, somewhat different and fresh in its own right, yet right there like a storybook, continuing from song to song in an almost scary progression. I kept going from track to track rockin on and on and was never at a moment feeling left down by the next song. I would have to say if you heard the first hit Inside and liked it, then you have to go buy this album. You WILL NOT be left down.

Being a local startup band to my area Im always glad to support a band that is as impressive as these guys. The first hit off of the album Half Life is a great rocker, and brings the freshness of this band to the forefront. This song is a great example of this bands work and the sound of the album. I was impressed by this album, and have to say if you havent heard these guys yet, go give them a try. I think you too will be impressed with what you hear.

Dry Cell

DRC-  http://www.drycellmusic.com/

Another band found from searching the latter tunes from a current soundtrack album Queen of The Damned. I heard these guys and couldnt believe how much they sounded like Linkin Park. I have heard a different version of the song Body Crumbles and like the soundtrack version the best. Listening to the album you continue to get that LP feel and sound but at times a little harder flavor. Id have  to say if youre a Lp fan as millions of other fans, then you just have to buy this album, youll wont be left down.
